Build a legacy study

Create a study

Updated this week

Legacy studies are only available to some customers that joined before August 2023. We've migrated most of the functionality into our newer, AI-powered studies. For more details on how to create a study using our new AI-powered study builder, see this section of our help center.

Introduction

With Wondering, you can create powerful mixed-methods research studies that can be sent to participants using our panel, on your website or via a unique link.

In Wondering, study creation has 3 steps:

  • Build - here you'll add the blocks you want in your study.

  • Audience - here you'll define where you want to launch your study (on Web or via Link) and define how many responses or user interviews you want.

  • Review - here you'll review your study before you set it live.

This guide will help you get started and cover the Build step.

Creating a new study

To create a new study, click the + Create new study button to go to the study builder or head to this link.

Building your study

To start building your study, choose if you want to build a study from scratch or use a template from your Template library. Once logged in to your Wondering account, you can see your Template library here.

Creating from scratch

To start building a new study from scratch, simply click + New Block and select the study block you'd like to add from the dropdown:

In general, we recommend starting studies with a Text/ URL prompt as it allows you to introduce the study. Continue adding blocks until the study matches your requirements.

Use a template

To create a study from a template, click the use a template button to browse the study template library:

Once you have added the template you can edit it to customise it to your needs.

Duplicate an existing study

You can also create a new study by duplicating an existing study. To do this, go to the summary page for your pre-existing study and click the ... button in the top right corner, and then click Duplicate:
