Running an AI-led study in different languages
Updated over a week ago

At Wondering, we’re committed to making the world feel closer together by empowering teams to build products that serve all of their customers, no matter who they are, through research that is more inclusive and representative. As a result, supporting research in different languages is an important step for us to take.

Therefore, on all our plans you can write a study in any of our 50+ supported languages and it will work correctly.

What languages are supported?

Wondering currently supports running AI-led studies in 50+ languages:

Afrikaans, Arabic, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Belarusian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, Galician, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Kazakh, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Malay, Marathi, Maori, Nepali, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, Tagalog, Tamil, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese, and Welsh.

If you create a study in one of these languages, any AI-generated follow up questions and in-study text will automatically be translated to that language. If you create a study in a language that isn't on this list, then your participants will see the study in English.

If you'd like to run a study in a language that isn't yet supported, reach out to us at [email protected].

What will happen to the interview transcripts and results?

Once you have completed your study, Wondering's AI will automatically translate each conversation to English, so that you can view the results even if you don't speak the language the study was completed in. For each response, you can see the original transcript as well as the translated version.

Participants can answer in the language of their choice

Multilingual studies are only available on the Scale plan

If you are a customer on our Scale plan, you can also run studies where the study will be automatically translated to the preferred language of your participant. For example you could write a study in English and your participant could answer in French. We will automatically detect the preferred language of your participant but it's also possible for you to set the study language.

This makes it easier for you to run studies across different markets, even if you don't speak the native language in the market you are recruiting participants from. If we do not support their preferred language then we will display the study in English.
